GREENEVILLE, Tenn. — Junior Linette Ramseur (Vale, N.C.) recorded 18 kills to lead Gardner-Webb University to a 3-0 sweep over host Tusculum College to extend their winning streak to 20 matches, in South Atlantic Conference volleyball action Thursday night at Alpine Arena. The Lady Bulldogs won by scores of 15-6, 15-4, 15-11.
GWU (28-4, 10-0 in SAC) made won the first two games in quick fashion, but had to rally from a 9-3 deficit to post the victory.
Senior Heather Hauser (Eaton Rapids, Mich.) added 18 digs, while setter Jessi Fick (New Bern, N.C.) made 42 assists for Gardner-Webb.
Sophomore Jill Lucas (Gaston, Ind.) added nine kills, while freshman Jenifer Webb (Greeneville, Tenn.) added a season-best 10 digs in the TC loss.
The Pioneers (8-11, 3-6 in SAC) return to action this Saturday afternoon when they will play at Lee College for a 4:00 p.m. before Sunday’s rematch with SAC rival Carson-Newman, Sunday in Jefferson City. GWU returns to the volleyball hardwood on Monday when they travel to Wingate University for a 6:30 p.m. match at Cuddy Arena.
